Our patriotism belongs to SPORTSTAR & BOLLYWOODSTAR!!!

In the first half of 20^th century, juvenile delinquents were always ready to die for the voice of Gandhi & Nehru. Their voice gave their soul the inspiration to fight English rulers. No one could listen a word against them. But as our country has moved in 21^st century, Gandhi & Nehru are replaced by Sportstar & Bollywoodstar.

So, our patriotism show its strength when someone humiliates the bollywood actors or sport-person. They burn effigies of government authorities and accused. They rally and protest, demand for arrest. But when it turns to our real heroes, everyone turns to their homes. The above mentioned article published in The Times of India on 23^rd Dec reveals this fact. When Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan were portrayed in undergarments, our youth protested. But this has not happened again, when our freedom fighters are portrayed. Actually, our patriotism wake up when either we watch the movies like RDB & CHAK DE, it disappears as soon as a new movie of some other genre is released or Indian cricket team wins matches. The patriotism is at its peak at the time of World Cup.

So is the attitude of our citizens. Its not that our youth has no love for our Mother India, but it's due to the lack of inspiration, someone who can inspire them. There is also some fault of media. They denounce for a week if anything happens wrong to sports or bollywood personality and forget the same thing happens to our leader as if it was last night dream.

Teaching Methodology in India (I)

Discussion is always going on how to improve the methodology of teaching among the educationist. What children read at the age of 12 years thirty years ago, same is being taught at the age of five today. The IQ has increased and it seems babies born with more IQ. But burden on them has not decreased; it seems it is growing now at a higher rate.

All the educationists suggest a playing environment for teaching is best. It has also been proved that children learn faster in that case. Most of the schools followed the same methodology up to the standard II or III, but after that scenario changes much. To compete in the modern challenging environment the students are compelled to do a hard study by their parents as well as their so called teachers. In some schools preparation for toughest examination like JEE, Medicals, CAT is started just after finishing their primary education. Some schools starts to impart personality development (actually call it English improvement) education as soon as a child enters his teens. The result is that students are barred from enjoying games and other activities which include their interest, hobby. That is why our country is flooded with youths either having specs or contact lens and all having either a frail or obese figure. But a balanced solid body having muscles as iron ("Our country requires intelligent minds as well as strong muscles" I read in one of my English lessons of class XII) is rare to seen. The students are always busy with their books, it does not matter whether they are studying or not, but their parents are happy seeing his loving with a book but the child wants to play, wants freedom from books. So much expectation on the child that he thinks himself as the last one of the class but their parents does not see his labor. He is doing up to his strength. The only cause is the parents' jealousy that if any boy does something different in the locality, all wants their children to do the same.

The other case is the corporal punishment to the students and growing number of incidents involving violence among students. Recently three children aged 12 and 13 killed their juniors to have a holiday. They want some freedom from the same routine and monotonous life. At that age their parents sent them to boarding schools thinking they could learn their well. But it is the love of family that they need at that age the most but the parents have not enough time devote to their children. The other case of corporal punishment will be curbed only when the moral strength of teachers will be increased. Teaching is considered as the ideal job. But it is only considered, no one is actually interested in teaching now a days. They are paid less. So I think they get frustrated and pour their frustration on the students. They are counselor to students but in these conditions they need counseling themselves. Then they will be made mentally strong and the problem can be checked

Growing regionalism in India

When I opened today's newspaper, I got a shock. It has two shocking news to me.These news, according to me, are going to affect our society in nearby future in devastating way.
The first news was about the electrocution of students of a school in Andra Prdesh. How can one be so vicious! Not only electrocution, he also make students to wash others' underclothes as punishments.
Has he lost his humanity! In our country children are the forms of God but I think, to that person, they are only wicked and progeny of satan. By the order of the apex court, punishment in the schools is totally banned. But it can be followed only if the populace will know about these harassment. But the children are so terrified that even some of them didn't tell their parents. In such terrifying environment, how the students are studying, I cannot think.
The other news was growing regionalism in our country. After Assam it now turns to the IT city Banglore. This growing regionalism is heralding the changing society and changing mentality of our country. We have lost a high number of manpower in Assam in last few years. Many had to left their homes from Assam. Now the same case is taking its shape in Banglore. North Indian are started to be boycotted there. The main cause is the insecure feeling of being displaced from their home. They think, North Indian are swamped there and there are no job left for them. This feeling is growing throughout the country either it is the case of domicile in Jharkhand or that in Assam or Banglore. The other fact of being insecure has been presented by some NGOs. They think, there culture is being affected. The Northerns talk either in Hindi or in English, so Kannada is facing problems. I agree with this fact that no culture should be affected. But the way used to solve this problem is not right. Threatening, hurting, or murdering will not solve the problems. This will only increase the environment of dismay, hatred, disgust. This will lead only to the dark.
The solution is also shown by the NGOs. One way is that local people talk to all in kannada. North Indians also will learn the regional languages.
